V is for violin - this is my violin from when I was a teenager and having lessons from an irascible old Irish man - he informed me repeatedly that at around 16 I was far too old to start learning and that I'd never be any good! Truth is, fiddle Donegal-style is difficult at any age, and extremely painful to innocent bystanders while you're practicing, which my entire family and many household pets can vouch for!

Hey, you weren't that bad! Bound to be out of practice now though. One day maybe, when you're rich ....
Violin is a very beautiful instrument and you have taken some great shots here:)
Petunia's ABC
The old fiddle is looking good still. Brings back some memories doesn't it.
Love your V post the Violin and the story to go with it. I took violin in elemtary school and the teacher asked me not to come back for anymore sessions. I was a bit devastated....
Wonderful photos of a wonderful instrument!
A very beautiful V-choice you are sharing whit us.
Wonderful choice for today. If you really want to do it, you will find a way, even if you need to buy your "other" half a set of earplugs! lol
Yes, those jobs are pretty pesky and mess up our real lives. I am trying to not let my job overtake me, tho. It's hard. I hope you get back to it. It's a lovely instrument.

I was going to say the same as Leslie...where there is a will there's a way. I hope someday you ca fulfill your dream.
Loved this post!
I remember wanting to learn the baratone. Fortunately for my family I gave it up!
Perhaps it's like a bicycle--you can pick up where you left off without too much pain.
Sadly, my piano learning leaves me with only the ability to give the first note for the choir if the accompanist has not arrived yet.
Nice shots and wonderful choice!
I also chose violin for my V. I concentrated on my greater family's violin players, though. You have posted beautiful violin photos plus an amusing story to go with them. I'm happy your mother pointed me toward your blog.
